DIY Multi-Nut Butter

(Allergens: Peanut, Tree Nuts, Sesame)

It can be difficult to include all the tree nuts in a babies’ diet, but if you are determined enough, you can make your own nut butter.

  • 5.3 oz (150 g) of the following nuts:
    • Walnuts
    • Macadamia
    • Brazil
    • Cashews
    • Hazelnuts
    • Almonds
    • Pine nuts
    • Pecans
    • 3.5 oz (100 g) shelled pistachios
    • 12 oz (340 g) smooth peanut butter, well stirred
    • 10.6 oz (300 g) tahini, well-stirred
    • 2 tablespoons walnut or other nut oil (optional)

Add all the nuts to a large heavy-duty food processor or high-performance blender. Top with the peanut butter and tahini and blend. If the mixture gets stuck, add the oil. Continue blending until smooth. Spoon into jars, making sure to remove any nut pieces that were not completely blended as they can be choking hazards for very small children and babies.

    Store in the refrigerator.

    Makes six 12-oz jars
